Gerry has had, worked with, or been around animals practically all his life.This gives him a great empathy with them and having had a horse and numerous dogs he understands how to make them comfortable around him. Gerry truly understands the bond and the love between you, and the trust and friendship that your relationship is based upon.
Gerry has a relaxed manner which helps to calm any nerves the client might have at the start of a shoot and ensures the four legged participants settle quickly.
By making the shoot fun and relaxed and an occasion in itself you will all soon chill out and this lets Gerry catch your true characters and the bond between you.

Gerry’s work and interests have seen him train and handle numerous dogs, from Spaniels and Labradors to working Malinois. This has given him a great insight into dogs generally and how to get the best from them and therefore look their best in photographs. He has a natural affinity with animals and loves to capture their personality in a picture. Gerry’s jobs have seen him working with people in a number of different roles during his working life, these jobs have seen him have to manage events when people have been at emotional extremes and have equipped him well for dealing with all sorts of circumstances. At one point Gerry was a location scout for film and TV companies which gave him a great eye for finding interesting back drops for photographs, not necessarily huge vistas, but pockets of interest that add to the image.
Gerry brings all these qualities together along with his photography skills to capture the connection and friendship between you in a unique and beautiful way, to create images you’ll love and treasure forever.
In September 2025 Gerry was privileged and honoured to take portraits of HM Queen Eliabeth II’s beloved corgis. He was previously extremely flattered to be chosen to be a part of the Team GB entry for the very prestigious World Photographic Cup. It is such an honour to have one of his images alongside others from some of the best photographers in the world! Truly, world class photography.
